Important Apple update

Apple has released an critical update for their MacOS and iOS devices, which affects all devices running MacOS Monterrey and iOS 15 which must be upgraded to the latest update. Please make sure you upgrade your Mac to 12.5.1 and iOS devices to 15.6.1 to fix the problem.

From Apple menu, choose About this Mac.

You will see the Software Update… button, press this and it will take you to the page to install the latest version of macOS.

You will need to enter your login password and then the installer will download and install this update.

You will need to make sure anything you are working on is saved, as you will need to restart to install this update.

The update will take some time to install.

Note that the About this Mac screen also shows you the age of your Mac and it’s model.

Click on Settings cog, then General then Software Update.

You will need to have at least 50% of battery life, so connect your device to the mains via the charger.

Your device will check to see if there is an update available and give you the option of downloading and installing this update.

Once downloaded, there will be a long process of verification of the update and then your device will reboot and install the update to your device.
