Surge XT: A Free Synthesizer for GarageBand and Logic Pro on Mac

Surge XT: A free, open-source synthesizer plugin for Mac
GarageBand and Logic come with plenty of sounds, but sooner or later you want more synth sounds, and good synth plugins often cost as much as the music software itself.
Surge XT is a powerful synth that costs nothing. It comes with thousands of presets and works in GarageBand, Logic and most other music apps.

What is Surge XT?

Surge XT is a free, open-source hybrid synthesizer developed by a community of volunteers. It runs as an Audio Unit (AU), VST3 or CLAP plugin in music apps like GarageBand, Logic Pro, Ableton Live and Reaper, and also as a standalone app. It includes several synthesis methods, a wide range of effects and modulation, and thousands of presets. Surge XT Effects adds its effects as a separate plugin.
